Running, running, running

Let's Get It Started, in here...
And the base keep runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and... ( Let's Get It Started byThe Black-Eyed Peas)

I absolutely love this song of The Black-Eyed Peas, it never fails to get me started when the "procrastination monster" threatens to completely devour me.

It's 9 weeks and 2 days to got to Berlin Marathon; I am definitely very excited and very nervous.

On the blogging front it's been 6 weeks since I published and shared a blog !  My last post @ My Daily Mooosings in the Netherlands was a venting one! a few days after my last post  here, and shared some of the pictures of myself in the running events I've participated in Spring 2012:

Hilversum City Run 2012  22nd of April

Hamburg Marathon Relay 2012 29th of April
Marikenloop 2012  20th of May
Ladiesrun Rotterdam 2012 10th of June
Vechtloop 2012  24th of June
Admittedly, it has been a challenge to keep with my original goal of sharing an organized daily log of my training.

There are several  scattered documentation of what I have done for my training in the past months - daily pictures taken, posts in Facebook, on my FB page, tweets @ Twitter, scribbles on my notebook etc.. I wrote about my intentions here to do my best to journal about my very first marathon, and this intention is still very strong

As you can probably tell by now, I am determined even if it will be a lot of work, and it will take time to share each day of my running odyssey, most specially my first year as a runner.

Speaking of first year of being a runner, my first runniversary is coming up in exactly two weeks!!!

I honestly can't believe it's only  a year because of the richness of this "running year", I almost feel it's been a longer journey than only 12 months. :)

Looking back at my first goal: run an 8K within the Amsterdam Marathon event, I was terrified  thinking about the day itself!

Not planned during my training, were some of my first memorable runs, I was glad I was able to participate in: my first 5K in Amsterdam Bos (Pink Ribbon NL run organized by Mom in Balance), and my first 4M: Run2Day Ladies Damloop.

In celebration of this first runniversary, I hope to share the joy with a contest to be launched  in the month of August.  So, stay tuned!

Please, follow me in Facebook via my page:  Paper in Europe , and in Twitter @PaperInEurope for announcements of what and how you can win prizes. :)

A snap shot I took last year, 8th of August @ exactly half-way of an 8 km walk (brought Littlest with me as my companion!).  It was the first day of my training; the goal of the day was mainly to have a mental ceremony for me, to show myself, if I can walk 8 kilometers strongly, with consistent training within an 8 week period, I'll be able to run it strongly as well. And I did! :)

    2. Thanks for trying to keep up to date with the training bro!

I'm going to join the gym to get reinforcement. Honestly, I am fighting fatigue at the moment. Perhaps things will be better when the girls are in Germany, I can focus more to get my rhythm back.

  6. I'd like to start running, but have a hard time here in Saudi Arabia because of the hot weather. So we just do it indoors using treadmill.

    1. Thanks for dropping by, Archie!

Kudos to using alternative ways to pursue running. I myself might start in a gym to overcome some running hindrances, such as weather and family commitments.

Sometimes you just have to be creative to pursue what's good for you!

  14. Your stamina really works for you. More power to your running, running, running hobby. It could really energize you and perk you up as a healthy, stay-fit individual.

I respect that you tried to see if running was for you! Not everyone can say they run a 5K. Perhaps another physical activity, such as swimming?
