Monday, 6th of May: first run in a pair of shorts this year!
"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start."
Yes, this blogger is still blogging! And yes, my Happy Feet are still running! :)
It's been crazy, the past 5 months. When I planned the personal challenge #TRIOfor2013 (running three marathons in a year), I was fully aware that it was going to be a huge challenge.
A huge challenge not only for me alone but for my partner & family, whose support I absolutely can't do without.

What I did not take in consideration in the year prior to 2013, literally the beginning of the last day of 2012 would end so dramatically, that my family & I are still recovering from it's aftermath.
For those who just stumbled upon this blog, you can read an update about the dramatic end of the year for our family @My Daily Mooosings in the Netherlands latest post: Welcome (To Our) Home.
A day after Valentine's Day 2013, we received the keys to the new house.
I think it is only now, that I realised I demanded too much from myself, as a way of dealing with the stress of what happened.
Egmond Half - a memorable first. Motto: Be there to finish!
Groet uit Schoorl 2013 - my first "lost"/"pseudo-finished" unfinished run - I'll be back next year!

Last week, the first week of our girls May school break, I sank in deep depression, something I have not experienced for quiet a long time.
At that point I had to admit, that as much as I was striving to simplify life, I was still following a lot of past destructive behaviour patterns. Luckily, at this point in my life, I take two steps forward, and only take one step back. As opposed to the other way around. This should be something to be proud of I tell myself.
There is strength in being aware of negative patterns, acknowledging them, and having the ability to move on.
And so I do. So I live.
With the help of my family, friends, the running community, my goals, and yes, blogging.
Indeed, as simple as this medium is, it helps a lot.
Next goal: Luxembourg Marathon, 8th of June 2013
